Accommodation and Food

Coconut Lagoon Accommodation The accommodation at the Kumarakom Coconut Lagoon consists of individual cottages and villas. The name itself suggest its location, as the resort is set around a grove of Coconut trees. The property enjoys the bliss of a tropical garden. Each of the accommodation is built in the traditional Kerala style, relying heavily on wood. While some villas even have private pools; all rooms have air-conditioning, with the exception of the pool villas which have open-air bathrooms. The lodgings are as natural as possible, letting guests comfort from the lush green environs.

The Resort has two restaurants, each with their own speciality. The main restaurant is verandah style that feature sumptuous buffet options that celebrate the best and most varied traditions of Kerala cuisine. Another option is the Fort Cochin, a speciality seafood restaurant serving a variety of shellfish, sea and river fish in local and international styles, as well as meat and vegetarian dishes.


Other activities and facilities

Coconut Lagoon Activities Coconut Lagoon has a fully equipped Ayurveda center, outdoor swimming pool, Yoga and Meditation center, Recreational area, etc. Additionally, guided visits to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, a heaven for bird lovers is available. Furthermore, the resort will happily arrange sunset houseboat cruises on the Vembanad Lake. In addition, there are regular cooking demonstrations, as well as Kathakali (traditional Kerala dances) and Kalari (traditional martial arts of Kerala) shows in the evenings.

Coconut Lagoon Activities The Ayurvedic Centre at Coconut Lagoon has ‘green leaf' certification status by the government of Kerala. The luxury centre is headed by fully-qualified team of experts, who after detailed consultation, decide on treatments and diets for guests. There are 6 treatment rooms here. Ayurveda therapies as well as some of the modern therapies are available for both health and beauty, including massages, and shirodhara (where oil is dripped onto the ‘'third eye'' or forehead).
