Heritage of India
Heritage of India is a week-long journey aboard the Indian luxury train, Maharajas’ Express. The itinerary covers the major sites of the treasured Indian legacy. Equipped with modern amenities royal décor the train begins this journey from Mumbai, covering royal cities, UNESCO listed world heritage sites, monuments, sightseeing and more, ending in the capital city Delhi.

Day 1 - (Sunday) - Mumbai
Assemble at the Taj Mahal Hotel by 09:00 hours. By 10:30 hours get a comfortable transfer to proceed for the Chattrapati Shivaji Stadium to board the luxury train after your check-in formalities. After a refreshing welcome drink, explore your cabin and the train. As you settle into the comforts of Maharajas' Express, the train begins its journey to Udaipur. Spend the day enjoying the amenities onboard as well as the passing scenery.
Lunch, dinner and overnight stay aboard. -
Day 2 - (Monday) – Udaipur
Begin the day enjoying a hearty breakfast onboard. Choose to seat yourself at any of the two luxury restaurants of the train- Mayur Mahal and Rang Mahal. Later, disembark for sightseeing.
Plans for the day include a boat ride on Lake Pichola. The beautiful lake in Udaipur is one of the prized landmarks. The lush Aravalis in the background adds to the allure of the lake and the city beyond words. Next, pay a visit to the City Palace. The palatial building is a beauty with many amazing sights to wonder at. Move on for a visit to the Crystal Gallery which has many impressive masterpieces to its name.
Back to the Maharajas’ Express for lunch and rest. Choose to enjoy any of the optional activities. Pamper yourself at a Spa at a hotel or go exploring with a Local City Tour.
By 18:15 hours proceed for an exclusive Dinner at Satkar Hall of Fateh Prakash Palace or the Jagmandir Island Palace. Relive the moments of luxury dining like royals.
After a lavish dinner, get back to the comforts of Maharajas’ Express by 20:30 hours.
By 22:00 hours the Maharajas’ Express proceeds to the ‘Blue City’ Jodhpur.

Day 3 - (Tuesday) – Jodhpur
Start the day at leisure with breakfast by 07:30 hours served onboard. By 09:15 hours get ready for an optional tour to Bishnoi Village. The Bishnoi community is a nature-friendly group that have their own set of beliefs and faith. For the excursion de-board at the Rohat Railway Station. Get back onboard by 13:00 hours for lunch. Make way to any of the luxury restaurants on the train for a sumptuous lunch.
Post-lunch, by 14:30 hours, deboard the train to start with sightseeing. Pay a visit to the mighty Mehrangarh Fort looming over the Blue City of Jodhpur. The impressive architecture and even more fascinating sights are the highlights of the city. Later, embark on a walking tour of the Old Clock Tower Market. Later, enjoy a joy ride on Tuk Tuks while exploring the city.
After a fun-filled day, by 17:30 hours proceed for an exclusive cocktail dinner organized at the Hanwant Mahal or Khaas Bagh. Later, return to the comforts of Maharajas' Express by 20:15 hours.
While you rest overnight aboard, the train rolls to the next destination, Bikaner.

Day 4 - (Wednesday) – Bikaner
Wake up to the beautiful views of the rolling countryside. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast by 08:00 hours at the lavish venues aboard. You will be arriving to Bikaner by 10:00 hours. The morning is free for optional activities. Pay a visit to the Lalgarh Musuem or proceed with a local city tour.
Lunch will be served onboard at the luxury restaurants. Post-lunch disembark for a visit to the Junagarh Fort. The fortress enjoys magnificent views of the city along with many sights of the bygone days. Later in the evening, proceed towards the golden sand dunes of the Thar for an exclusive dinner. Enjoy the end of the day with cocktails, bar-be-que and the evening of attractive folk dance performances. The breath-taking views and the sumptuous buffer is a beautiful memory, one of the favourites of your tour. Return to the train for the night. Putting you in deep sleep the trains chugs to the next stop, Jaipur. -
Day 5 - (Thursday) – Jaipur
Treat your taste buds to delicious breakfast early in the morning by 08:00 hours. Deboard for a visit to the beautiful yellow-sandstone Amber Fort. The fortress stand guard over the city of Amer and Jaipur. Listed among the Hill Forts of Rajasthan which are further classified in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India.
After sightseeing, by 12:30 hours proceed to the Rambagh Palace hotel for lunch. The heritage hotel owned by the Taj Group was formerly the residence of the royal family of Jaipur and till date maintains its charm. Enjoy a lavish meal and feel like royalty.
By 16:00 hours return to the comforts of Maharajas’ Express. For the rest of the day choose to enjoy any of the optional activities- pampering spa at a city hotel, visit to the City Palace museum and the royal observatory- Jantar Mantar or a local city tour.
Enjoy a sumptuous dinner onboard at any of the two restaurants. Overnight stay in the train as it proceeds to Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore). -
Day 6 - (Friday) - Ranthambore and Fatehpur Sikri
In the early morning, drive to the land of the tigers, Ranthambore National Park. By 06:30 hours proceed for an exciting game drive at the wildlife sanctuary. Formerly the hunting grounds of the royal family of Jaipur, the national park shelters the previously-hunted Royal Bengal Tigers.
After the thrilling safari, return to the train as a hearty breakfast awaits onboard. While you feast on the delights, the train rolls to the next destination, Fatehpur Sikri. The abandoned city of the Mughal Empire has a treasure trove of tourist sites.
Relish lunch onboard at any of the lavish restaurants while enjoying the view of the passing countryside. By 15:30 hours, disembark for a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Fatehpur Sikri.
Get back aboard by 18:00 hours to enjoy the comforts of Maharajas' Express. The evening is planned to be made special. By 19:30 get ready to enjoy an “Indian Evening” followed by dinner onboard.

Day 7 - (Saturday) – Agra
Arrive into Agra early in the morning. Disembark the train for a visit to the Taj Mahal. The ‘icon of love’ truly looks out of the world in the early morning. The white marble glows in the early morning sunshine and words will fall short to explain the beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Once you have soaked in the ethereal beauty of the Taj, leave for breakfast at an exclusive venue by 09:30 hours. Taj Khema will host a champagne breakfast.
By 10:45 get back onboard the luxury train. As soon as you are settled in the Maharajas’ Express will begin its journey towards Delhi, the last stop of the itinerary. Savor lunch onboard at any of the plush restaurants.
Arrive to Delhi and by 15:30 hours disembark and bid farewell to the Maharajas' Express.

- USD 500 Per Person surcharge levied on the tariff for the trips falling during Christmas and New Year
- Half fare for the children of 5 to 12 years.
- Children up to 05 years of age are free.
- The above tariff and itinerary is subject to revise without prior notice.
- Tariff is inclusive of cost of travel and accommodation, catering, boiled mineral water (morning tea, breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner), conducted sightseeing tours in deluxe coaches, entrance fee for monuments and palaces and cultural entertainment.
- Tariff does not include liquor, laundry, video cameras and other items of personal nature
Booking Policy
- 50% of ticket value at the time of confirming the booking.
- Remaining 50% of ticket value 75 days prior to departure.
Cancellation policy
- 25% of ticket value 60 days or more prior to departure date.
- 50% of ticket value between 45 to 59 days prior to departure date.
- 100% of ticket value 44 or less days prior to the departure date.
