opened their borders, and with at least the Indian Government now making a official statement, that regular flights and tourist visas are going to resume soon. The definition of soon is anyone’s guess for the moment, but, it certainly does seem like, we are going to be once again welcoming tourists to our wonderful Indian subcontinent in the near future.

I am writing this short note basically to give you a brief update of what the team at Trans India Holidays has been up to, and to update with tourism related events and happenings in our part of the World. First and foremost, to give you an update on where India stands at the moment, the good news is, that Covid case numbers are at a all time low, and vaccinations are at a all time high. To put the vaccinations numbers in perspective, India has administered almost 800 million doses between March 2021 and now, and at the current pace, almost 10 million people are being vaccinated daily. It is expected that by end 2021 over 80% of India’s adult population would be fully vaccinated.

covering almost all aspects of client travel in our part of the World. As of today, all our frontline staff is fully vaccinated, and ready to welcome travelers.

Among other activities that our team has been busy with, is the inhouse production of tourism videos, that can be used for promotion as well as training purposes. Inspite of the pandemic and the challenging business environment, India has seen a few new hotel openings. Notable, among these are the Raffles in Udaipur, The Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan

The Taj Rishikesh, and The Pilibhit House in Haridwar. Also in Delhi, the Taj Group has reopened The Connaught Hotel, which is wonderfully located value for money hotel in Delhi. Tea Tourism gets a boost with the opening of two Taj properties, The Taj Chia Kutir Resort and Spa in Darjeeling, and the ama Stays & Trails Makaibari Bungalow near Darjeeling.

On the experiences front, one of Old Delhi’s iconic landmarks, Chandni Chowk

has recently undergone a redevelopment, to make it a completely pedestrian zone. This colorful market area, will now be even more attractive and tourist friendly.
