Dear Friends,
Greetings from Trans India Holidays !!
With the low season for travel to India nearly behind us now, my team and I would like to say a big “Thank You” to each one of you for having supported us through the years, and also take the time to update you on what is new in the Indian sub-continent, as well as at our end.
In recent days, we’ve seen a sharp increase in clients asking for small boutique accommodation and experiential holidays. Travelers to the Indian sub-continent are now wanting to do a lot more than just ticking the boxes for “been there, done that”. Our team has actually spent a lot of time putting together new, unique and culturally immersive experiences in almost every major destination of India, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. Feel free to ask us for details. In addition, in recent days we have taken the time to identify and inspect several new, as well as several not so new, but unique accommodation options, from luxury homestays to small boutique hotels. Feel free to ask us for details

Destination of the Month
Jawai
A perfect harmony of wildlife, human habitat and splendid nature is ideally located less than 3 hours drive from both Udaipur and Jodhpur airports. The terrain is extremely rugged, and as you set about to track Leopards, you see granite rock formations that are a billion years old, local tribesmen, called Rabari’s going about their daily routine. The piece de resistance of Jawai are the Leopards, that roam free in this picturesque landscape. Jawai is arguably the best place in Asia to sport Leopards in their natural habitat, and is fast gaining popularity as a wildlife destination. Jawai now boasts of a number of accommodation options, from the uber luxury Sujan Jawai Camp, to several modestly priced lodges.

Cycling through Fort Cochin
A perfect way to discover the sites and sounds of Fort Kochi, the historic part of the harbour city of Cochin. Cycle past the Chinese Fishing nets, the Jewish Synagogue, the Dutch Palace and get an insight in to the old colonial Dutch, Portuguese and British influences that make up the city.

Update of the Month
The Golden city “Jaisalmer” now has good air connectivity.
A beautiful and well worth visiting destination in Western Rajasthan, Jaisalmer, never got it’s fair share of tourism because of lack of reliable air connectivity. Indigo, India’s largest domestic airline has now announced flights connecting Delhi, Jaipur as well as Mumbai with Jaisalmer starting mid October 2023.

Interesting Fact
The Project Tiger
The Project Tiger which started almost 50 Years ago is showing great signs of success in Tiger conservation. Together the National Parks in India had recorded around 3000 Tigers during 2018, and this number in 2023, is upto about 3700, and increase of almost 30%. Needless to say, the Tiger continuous to be the biggest draw for Wildlife tourism to India.
