  • Day 1: ARRIVE KOLKATA

    You will be met at the airport by Trans India Holidays representative and transferred to the hotel-The Park and assisted with check in formalities. Kolkata: Cultural, historic and charming, Kolkata previously known as Calcutta is East India’s most popular city. Nicknamed ‘The City of Joy’, it is a city of contrasts and myriad charms. Formerly the capital of British India before Delhi, the city developed from a fishing village to become one of the largest cities in the world. Symbolizing creativity and vibrancy, the city has lovingly adapted to the modern trends and techniques of the world but has not shed the leisurely lifestyle and the calm of its heydays. While Calcutta is a city of enduring charm, it is also a city that evokes extreme emotions. So be ready to experience something totally different. The city is where Mother Teresa worked tirelessly for the poor and homeless and the city where Rabindra Nath Tagore wrote his famous books and to date has the olden charm intact.   • Day 2: IN KOLKATA

    After breakfast at the hotel, met your tour guide who will accompany you on a full day sightseeing tour of Kolkata. The places to visit include visit include: The Jain Temple: Also known as the "Jewel Box Temple of Calcutta", this temple complex dedicated to four Jain Teerthankaras. The beautiful architecture consists of intricately carved marbles and glass work and has a charismatic vibe. Kumartuli: A traditional potter’s village, Kumartuli is known for its fine craftsmen making idols and other sculptures. The life-like creations make for an interesting sight, especially the various deities of Indian mythology. College Street: One of Asia's largest book market, College Street is known for the city’s oldest premier educational institutions. Walk and explore the book hub and discover the many gems of literature hidden here. A cup of coffee at the famous "Coffee Shop" is also a must try. Kali Temple: A great pilgrimage center, situated at Kalighat the Hindu temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. The beautiful architecture, the spiritual setting and the rich Indian culture marks the temple as one of the best sights of Kolkata. Victoria Memorial: One of the famous landmarks of Kolkata, the white-marble monument is an excellent architectural gem in Indo-Saracenic revivalist style. Raj Bhawan: The Residence of the Governor, Raj Bahwan is an outstanding heritage monument. The neoclassical style with distinct Baroque overtones dates back to the colonial rule and is now a recognized tourist attraction. Howrah Bridge: The icon of Kolkata, Howrah Bridge is a cantilever bridge, the third Largest Bridge in the World. Eden Gardens: Don’t’ go by its name, Eden Gardens is one of the most popular cricket grounds in the world. A mecca of cricket lovers, it has made its name with amazing Cricket matches.   • Day 3: FLY KOLKATA – GUWAHATI & DRIVE TO KAZIRANGA (240 KMS/ 5 HOURS APPROX.)

    After breakfast at the hotel, get assisted with timely transfer to the airport. Board your flight to Guwahati. On arrival at the airport, drive to Kaziranga National Park. Check in at the jungle lodge or wildlife resort. Kaziranga National Park: Nestled in the lush wilderness of the foothills of the North East Himalayas, Kaziranga National Park is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India. Spread over floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, forests, wetlands and grasslands, it is a popular wildlife sanctuary in India. Home to tigers, elephants, river dolphins, rare migratory birds, the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses and many more species of the animal kingdom. Note: Kaziranga National Park remains open from 01st Nov to 30th April every year. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/resort.

  • Day 4: IN KAZIRANGA

    Early morning Elephant ride/ Jeep safari after breakfast. Afternoon jeep safari inside the park. Note: Elephant ride is subject to availability from forest department. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/resort.

  • Day 5: IN KAZIRANGA

  • Day 6: KAZIRANGA TO SHILLONG (350 KMS / 7 HOURS APPROX.)

    After breakfast, drive from Kaziranga to Shillong (350 kms / 7 hours approx.). The scenic ride through the mountains Shillong: A beautiful hill station in North East India, Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya "Abode of Clouds". Picturesque sights such as manicured gardens, lakes, waterfalls, and rolling hills present a matchless view. The culture of indigenous natives and friendly locals is also fascinating. It is one of the unexplored gems of North East Himalayas. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 7: EXCURSION TO CHERRAPUNJEE (56 KMS / 2 HOURS APPROX.)

    After and early breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (56 kms / 2 hours approx.). The day excursions covers many attractions including: Visit the Elephant falls on the way. Visit the Nohsngithiang Falls, Mawsmai caves, Arwah caves and Nohkalikai Falls. Also see the valley of Bangladesh below. Explore the nature’s beauty in the pristine North East India. Drive back to Shillong. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 8: IN SHILLONG

    After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of Shillong Wards Lake: A beautiful manmade lake with short garden walks and boating facilities, this is a popular spot for both local and visiting tourists. (Tuesdays closed). Don Bosco Museum: Preserving the rich cultural heritage of North East India, the museum & research centre contains seventeen galleries displaying cultural artefacts and paintings. (Closed on Sundays) The Catholic Cathedral: A Roman Cathedral in the middle of the city it is an architectural marvel that is witness to the days of British Raj. In the afternoon visit: Lady Hydari Park: A popular spot both with locals and tourist, it is located in the heart of the city with an abundance of plants and flowers. Police Bazaar: The hub of shopping in the town is also a foodie paradise. Street shopping treasures include traditional handicrafts stores, exquisite Meghalaya merchandise, regional apparels, junk jewellery, etc. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 9: DRIVE SHILLONG - GUWAHATI AIRPORT (110 KMS / 4 HOURS APPROX.) – FLY To KOLKATA & DEPART

    After breakfast, you will be met by our representative and assisted with check-out formalities followed by transfer to the airport in time for your flight to Kolkata. Depart for home or onward journey from the Kolkata International Airport.
