Located just a few minutes from the hill town of Darjeeling, the Glenburn Tea Estate is a heavenly little plantation retreat set on a hillock above the banks of the River Rungeet, deep in the Himalayas, overlooking the Kanchenjunga peaks. Established as far back as 1860, the Glenburn, retains the style of a colonial planters Bungalow, and is set amidst what is still a working tea estate sprawling over 1600 acres. Rooms and Suites have been charmingly decorated, each with a separate theme, with all of them being comfortable and spacious, yet warm and cozy. A highlight of a trip to Glenburn, is it’s incredibly friendly and efficient staff headed by a charming hostess, who together prepare some of the most delicious, fresh food, that you would find in India. The day’s menu’s are actually discussed with the guests, and then finalized. The most popular activity at Glenburn is ofcourse a guided trip through the Tea Estate and the Tea factory.
