Located just a few minutes from the hill town of Darjeeling, the Glenburn Tea Estate is a heavenly little plantation retreat set on a hillock above the banks of the River Rungeet, deep in the Himalayas, overlooking the Kanchenjunga peaks. Established as far back as 1860, the Glenburn, retains the style of a colonial planters Bungalow, and is set amidst what is still a working tea estate sprawling over 1600 acres. Rooms and Suites have been charmingly decorated, each with a separate theme, with all of them being comfortable and spacious, yet warm and cozy. A highlight of a trip to Glenburn, is it’s incredibly friendly and efficient staff headed by a charming hostess, who together prepare some of the most delicious, fresh food, that you would find in India.
