The Safari club after conducting many camel safari's and mobile desert camps in crowded and tourist places like Jaisalmer, Bikaner etc. has finally chosen a permanent camp site — Osian, which makes it possible for even a single travelers to experience a deluxe camel safari. This ancient village in the merciless thar-desert is legendary for it's mesmerizing 6th century temples, sand-dunes and diversity of Rajasthani culture and tradition. Besides the comfortable camel safari, one also gets to see proud local tribes--- bishnois, bhils, shepherds, potters, weavers etc. in their natural surroundings and not to mention the various varieties of desert wildlife—the likes of bluebulls, gazelles, foxes, peacocks, partridges etc. The tents are similar to the african safari deluxe tents but with an ethnic (paisley) design for the inner sheeting. The tents are fully carpeted, well furnished, insect/ mosquito and waterproof. All tents have attached toilets with running water and flush commodes.
In addition, there is also a refreshing swimming pool, a feat of architectural engineering in a sand dune ! and the safari bar, a wonderful place to relax in the evenings over a drink and cigar to the gentle strains of jazz music.
